Life is beautiful.......take pictures!

My photo
Tacoma, WA, United States
I will be the gladdest thing under the sun // I will touch a hundred flowers and not pick one // I will look at cliffs and clouds with quiet eyes // Watch the wind blow down the grass and the grass rise (Edna St. Vincent Millay)

Hells Canyon

The earth is the mother of all people, and all people should have equal rights upon it.

People's dreams are made out of what they do all day. It's what you do that makes your soul, not the other way around.

Wallace Falls

Something about these woods
Something I like
Moss and an old man's beard
Dripping rain from a branch in the fading daylight

Gas Works Park

We're extremely fortunate
to know precisely
the kind of world we live in.
....
Get to know other worlds,
if only for comparison.

Tacoma Waterfront

Animals are such agreeable friends--they ask no question, they pass no criticisms.

Parkland Flora

At my feet the white-petaled daisies display
the small suns of their center-piece, their--if you don't
mind my saying so--their hearts. Of course
I could be wrong, perhaps their hearts are pale and
narrow and hidden in the roots. What do I know.
But this: is it heaven itself to take what is given

to see what is plain; what the sun
lights up willingly; for example--I think this
as I reach down, not to pick but merely to touch--
the suitability of the field for the daisies, and the
daisies for the field.

To fling my arms wide
In some place of the sun,
To whirl and to dance
Till the white day is done.

Idaho Sunrise

I see you rising
On the horizon
Bringing light into the day
And I'm coasting on your rays

I captured this image at my parent's house. It was really my first artistic photo. I remember looking at it on the screen of my mom's old camera and thinking "wow."

November 2008, Caldwell ID
Took this one driving to my sister's house early one morning. It was a beautiful moment and a lucky shot.

Idaho Skyscape

There is something about that wide open Idaho sky. I cannot get enough of it.

Idaho Flora

"There were so many miracles at work: that a blossom might become a peach, that a bee could make honey in its thorax, that rain might someday fall. I thought then about the seasons changing, and in the gray of night I could almost will myself to see the azure sky, the gold of the maple leaves, the crimson of the ripe apples, the hoarfrost on the grass."

Animal Dreams

I know several lives worth living.
Listen, whatever it is you try
to do with your life, nothing will ever dazzle you
like the dreams of your body...

Fun in the City

You said, "Life has no limit
If you're not afraid to get in it"
And oh, baby, I jumped to you

Since then there's nothing I can't do

I'm never gonna give you up

What do you got if you ain't got love?

Lake Ingalls Trail

Branches are bare with a pulse underneath
Flowering slowly inside
Your hands are warm and my body is wide
To hold all the promise of blue-velvet dark and stars
All it takes is a little faith and a lot of heart
Sweetheart

Cape Disappointment

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination
,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
